Schools & Colleges
The University of East London is committed to supporting students in schools and colleges to achieve their potential and make informed decisions concerning their future.
The School of Architecture, Computing & Engineering (ACE) offers a number of exciting and wide-ranging pre-entry activities and events promoting STEM subjects and Higher Education delivered throughout the year. We aim to build skills, raise students’ aspirations, increase levels of achievement and demonstrate a range of progression routes, underpinned by educational policy and context.
INSPIRE THEM!
As part of this commitment we invite teachers to bring their students from all levels and ages to the ACE Showcase & Employment Fair so that they can be inspired to pursue a successful academic and employment career. By engaging with other students and seeing the work that is being produced at degree level, younger students can aim higher in their own lives. The innovative work on show will open their minds to the possibilities and potential with relevant subjects
The Showcase also gives young people the opportunity to experience other subjects and fields they may not have considered as well as guide them in terms of career options from the employment perspective by engaging with designers, engineers and experts. Through receiving careers advice, young people go away with a fresh, new perspective on where their school subjects can lead them.
The Showcase is open from 11am - 4pm and students and teachers are welcome to attend for the duration of their choosing to fit around their timetable. The event is free but places are limited as the Showcase is popular with schools and colleges so teachers are advised to book early using the registration page.
A GREAT DAY OUT
The Showcase is designed to engage the students and there is no better way than by making it fun! We will have interactive games on offer, exhibitions and displays of students work which people can interact with. There will also be talks by special guests to inspire young minds.
We will also be holding our Student Quiz Show which students from Schools and Colleges can enter with prizes on offer. It gives your students the chance to enter a quiz based on questions on Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM). It will be competitive & we will have prizes up for grabs for the winners.
